Apple opened its first office in Singapore in 1981 with 72 employees, focusing on the production of Apple II personal computers.
The facility has since expanded to employ over 3,600 people, serving as Apple's regional operations center.
This week, Apple CEO Tim Cook is scheduled to meet with Singapore's prime minister-designate Lawrence Wong and incumbent leader Lee Hsien Loong during his tour of Southeast Asia.
